Vinyl Mix

So the other day, I was dying to make a mix. And I was not feeling doing it through serato. So I busted out some vinyl. It turned out OK, the first few records I wasnt really sure what I was going for, and by the end I was blasting some hard house classics.

The mixing and levels are a little crazy, but i don't care...

Download it here. 1h 32m 128kbps MP3

Tracklist:
Pride - Osunlade (original)

Wishing You Were Here - Blaze (Joey Negro Mix)

Gimme Da Drumz - DJ Sneak
Spaced Invader - Hatiras (this song doesn't make any sense unless you play it as loud as you can)

By the end of the mix, the bass was so loud in my house, that small objects were moving around on their own.

Fried Bumblebees

I'm obsessed with this video. Its from "The State" a comedy show that was on MTV in the 90s. So absurd and weird.

End of summer mix

This is a mix of my favorite songs from summer 2007. I mixed it in September.
The tracklist goes a little somthin like this:

Tears Dry on Their own - Amy Winehouse (Alix Alvarez remix)
This song is amazing. Her lyrics and singing are so flawless, and Alix's remix is really dope. I'm glad she went to rehab, she didn't seem to be doing too well.

Asante - Timmy Regisford
This song, oh my god, I've yet to hear it on some real big speakers, but that bassline is so sick. When the high hat starts to sizzle and the percussion gets real thick... its BANANAS

No cure - Hardrive (AKA Masters At Work)
This beat just bangs. The sample is from a disco track, I can't remember which but its really a hot beat. Reminds me of the old days.. from around 1997 or so.

Jerome Sydenham & Willie Graff - Brokeback
Hot track out on Ibadan records. I didn't know it well when I mixed it, when I cut it short, I realized the best part is when it's been playing for a while and you're about 3/4ths of the way into it. That and I was really eager to play this:

Sunshine Anderson - Force of Nature (Blaze Remix)

I was wondering when Blaze was going to start making RnB remixes again. It seemed like they stopped for a while during the Elements of life tour, but these dudes are legendary. This is a great example. Best when heard on nice speakers. "excuse me y'all but I love his dirty drawers"
I hear what she's saying, but ew, kinda.

Blaze - Lovelee dae - 20/20 Vision Remix Acapella
When playing this at full volume, I'm standing on top of a sand dune on Mars, and I'm about to blast off and fly across the entire universe. Upon my return to earth I will have brought with me some planet sized alien speaker technology that will turn the earth into a perfect world of peace and love.

Blaze - Lovelee dae
It sounds good with drums too.

Syren - My First Love - Frankie Feliciano Classic Mix
I'm a sucker for a deep house RnB remix. FF is really consistently good at this type of thing and I've been a fan for a long time.

Lina - Smooth (Timmy Regisford Remix)
Jill Scott's labelmate. Its a nice song, the remix is good, but I have to say, it has the worst flute (keyboard) solo I've ever heard. As I've said before, I'm a sucker for a deep house RnB remix! Sped up vocals and everything.

Robin Thicke - Would That Make You Love Me (David Harness Remix)
So simple, yet so effective. Robin's original material is dripping with falsetto soul, and the remix is groovy. Love it.

Wind parade remix
This is a remix of Donald Byrd - Wind Parade. I'm not sure who did it, but I'll find out.

Algebra - Did it for Me - Jovonn Remix
another great rnb remix. I like that synth sound. Jovonn is really talented and has been making great records for a long time.

Kerri Chandler feat Monique Bingham - In the morning
I used to think this song was kinda boring, but I think I heard it out and when Kerri says "tell me you love me baby..." and Monique is like "I LOVE YOUUUU" I was hooked, now I get chills when I hear that part.

Blaze feat Sybil - When I fall in love (Quentin Harris Remix)
I just love this beat. That synth line and the vocal together is just bliss. Its a particular favorite of Heather's.

Sara devine - Special (David Vibes Tobon Dub)
Utter crazyness. Just a total monster. What on earth does this have to do with the original song? I can't tell, but I don't really care. The synth solo is just wild, and it lasts the entire song.

Amerie - Gotta Work (Lets be young remix by Guy Robin & DJ Leo House)
Her voice is great, and this samples the Quentin Harris jam "Lets be young." I think that horn sample is from garageband. But I'm not sure.

Jill Scott - Hate on me (Quentin Harris remix)
QH very rarely makes a bad song. Plus Jill's vocals are huge.

My first mp3 post!

I don't remember buying this record, but I'm sure it was around 1996. It always gives me that nostalgic feeling you get when you hear an old song. Its was originally produced by Pizzaman, AKA Fatboy Slim... The guy who is famous for "Right about now".... Jock jams and all that. The video with Christopher Walken was dope too. Originally released in 1995, it was licensed to the US label Sm:)e in 1996 from Southern Fried Records.

The cover art is a trip, why do they have cat eyes and ears? Is he saying their relationship is just another groove? And she's thinking they should get back together?

This is the "Lisa Marie Experience Remix" by Ineil Hinde and Dean Marriotti. I like it better than the Original.

Enjoy!
